Morehead-Rowan County

Morehead and Rowan County serve as a regional hub.  We service over 100,000 people in health care, education, recreation and retail.  That means we are the economic develpment hub and boast a strong workforce. We live in a community strategically located next to Interstate 64 in Eastern Kentucky that is within 6 hours to over 50% of the national population. We are proud to offer the following to those who live here or are interested in our area:

Morehead State University
Maysville Community and Technical College—Rowan Campus
St. Claire Regional Medical Center
Cave Run Lake, Daniel Boone National Forest
500 acre MMRC Regional Industrial Park
A public school system rated one of the top 100 in the nation

Morehead and Rowan County is a progressive community taking the challenges necessary to ensure planned growth and development. At this moment, the end of 2016, we have approximately $160 million in capital construction projects underway. We are home to Morehead State University, who is only one of four universities in the nation to offer a space science degree and will soon have the Center for Advanced Manufacturing through Maysville Community & Technical College to train our workforce in specialized fields.

We offer a wonderful place to visit and live.  Thank you very much for visiting our web site and we hope that you will choose to take a closer look at this place we are proud to call home!
